We specialize in creating custom wedding and event stationery and personal decor that reflect your unique style and taste.

We also make designs from unexpected combinations of materials, but Platypus Papers and Woods and Fabrics and Metals and Plastics and Everything Else wouldn’t fit on our business cards.

Laney Hall — Paper Addict, Designer

Laney is the fairy godmother of stationery — tell her what your heart desires and she’ll make it happen, just like magic.

Short and sweet, she is a serious paper addict.

She thrives on creativity, using paper and a host of other materials to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind stationery and décor items.

A Colorado native, she finds that a little silly, a lot of craft and experience, and a ton of laughter add up to stationery fit for a fairy tale.

Joel Hall — Paper Dude, Maker

Formerly a software engineer and bus driver, Joel’s true passion is making; he’s into technology and enjoys working with tools like 3D printers, CNC routers, and laser cutters.

Precisely as short as Laney, and no less sweet, Joel sees every stationery and décor puzzle as a challenge to be met with creative problem solving.

He brings an engineering mind and an “if you can dream it, we can achieve it” attitude to Platypus Papers.

Laney & Joel

Together, Laney and Joel love attending musical theater, going to museums, and taking classes to hone their skills.

When they’re not at home (or work), they can be found exploring Colorado, on the shores of Grand Lake, at Disney World, or traveling the world.

Together Laney and Joel are parents to two fur babies — a lab mix and a corgi — and several thousand bee babies.

Yes, they have a small apiary (a collection of beehives) in their yard.

Working with PP was a dream! Being a bride and planning a wedding can be extremely stressful but we had one major aspect off my plate working with this husband and wife duo. From the save the dates, the invitations, our menus and seating charts, Laney took our vision and style of our wedding “theme” and truly tied all the elements that were important to us together into the stationery design. All aspects of the stationery complemented each other perfectly and consistently. The main colors we wanted incorporated were golds and greenery. Each component mirrored each other and that was extremely important to us. Laney even incorporated a snowboard into our wedding “logo,” as my husband is in the snowboarding industry — the final design was BREATHTAKING and my husband and I really felt that our invitations showcased both of us individually and as one.
