More and more couples are finding ways to incorporate wedding favors that won’t become trash in the near future. Seeds that can be planted, ribbon wands that can be used for other celebrations, frames that can be displayed, ornaments for Christmas trees. There are so many options, the sky’s the limit.
If you were to have a vineyard wedding, perhaps you would like to give your guests a small bottle of wine with a little tag on it. Why not have a cork tag that says something fun like “drink up” or “a toast to you”, that your guests can take home with them from your reception and reuse on their own bottles or on a gift they give in the future? Or maybe a small set of wooden drink charms that are shapes that are meaningful to you as a couple? These are very popular with anyone who has a party where people have their own glasses. Gone are the Sharpie-marked-cup days of old.
For the more eco minded bride a collection of local wildflower seeds that can be planted to grow in your guests gardens. Or maybe all of your wedding day paper is seed paper that can be planted to create a beautiful floral collection at each of your guests homes for a reminder of your beautiful day. Even a lovely snack, like local caramels, wrapped in food safe recyclable paper, is a wonderful choice.
There are so many choices for fun take home gifts that your guests will use again. A small wooden frame that holds your guests escort card can then be taken home by your guests, where they can add their own photo (or the photo of you two from the wedding, that you include in your wedding thank you notes). In fact, we make these fun frames from beetle killed pine right here in Colorado.
Your favor should be as unique as you are. It should also be reusable by your guests. Keep in mind that they are there, so they know your names and your date. You don’t need to have that on your favor. Instead, if you really want to have that additional personalization, add a favorite quote you two have, or a graphic from your wedding. Your guests will appreciate this small token of thanks that much more, if they feel they can use, and/or display it without explanation.
So why not do your family and friends a favor by choosing, or creating, a favor that includes them and gives them a memory to take home?
